Community Halls

Memorial Halls

There are six war memorial halls located in communities across Ashburton District.

The halls are often the social and cultural hub of the community they serve and are important venues for social, recreational and cultural functions.

Memorial halls are located in the following communities:

• Lagmhor/Westerfield
• Mayfield
• Mount Hutt
• Mt Somers
• Rakaia

The halls are administered by committees elected in triennial elections and supported by Council through provision of services and funding.

Community Halls

In addition, there are a number of community halls located across the district that operate very similarly to the memorial halls.

Again, the halls are often the social and cultural hub of the community and are important venues for social, recreational and cultural functions.

Hall Hire
