Some residents in Rakaia east will be without water on Tuesday 24 March, while a new watermain connection is installed in the Elizabeth Avenue/Burrowes Road area.

Water will be off from 9am for about six hours and water supply will be disrupted to some properties on Elizabeth Avenue, Burrowes Road and Rolleston Street (contained in the area in the map).

Rooney Earthmoving will be installing a new connection to an existing main for Council on Tuesday and it is part of ongoing work to maintain and improve parts of the supply network.

Some residents may also be disrupted on Wednesday 25 March, when household connections are made to the new watermain.

People may want to store some water to have available during the shutdown, and our contractors will work as quickly as they can to minimise the down time. If you want a cuppa, then make sure the jug is full before 9am, or store some water in a bucket if you want to flush the toilet.

Properties affected by the shutdown have been advised by letterdrop.
