Many local organisations hold activities or events which require the temporary closure of sections of the district roads.  Occasionally construction projects being undertaken in various locations around the Ashburton District also require temporary road closures.

Walnut Avenue, between Oak Grove and West Street (SH1)

Reason for Closure:

Ashburton Santa Parade

Detour Option(s):

Oak Grove, River Terrace (SH77), West Street (SH1) and vice versa OR Belt Road, Middle Road, Creek Road, Queens Drive, West Street (SH1) and vice versa.

BEACH ROAD EAST

From 4 November 2024, 6.00 am to 13 December 2024, 8.00 pm

Closure will be done in two stages, once stage 1 is complete, the closure will shorten to stage 2.
