Second short shutdown for Dromore water supply

There’ll be another short shutdown on the Dromore water scheme on Wednesday 28 January to connect new supply pipes to the new water treatment plant on Taverners Road.
Water will be off for one hour, from 11am until 12pm.
About 5.1km of new pipeline has been installed on the Dromore scheme, which is also in the process of getting a new water treatment plant. The old watermain was more than 50 years old and needed replacing.
Many rural households on the supply have their own storage tanks and will not be affected by the short shutdown on Wednesday. Households without storage should fill some containers with water for drinking or cooking, or fill a bucket with water to flush the toilet if needed.
People who have subscribed to Council’s 4196 text alert system will be reminded about the shutdown 24 hours in advance.
