Chertsey water supply restored
Updated Midday - The reservoir has now had a chance to refill, and residents can resume using water normally.
Residents on the Chertsey drinking water supply are being asked to conserve water after an unexpected outage at the treatment plant overnight.
Contractors have resolved the issue, and the plant is operating again, however it will take some time before the reservoir refills and full service is restored. Water tankers have been brought in to help refill the reservoir.
Water pressure may appear normal at the tap for residents, but Council warns that there will be a very limited supply for the next few hours. To ensure there is enough water for all users, people are asked to use water conservatively for the remainder of the day and avoid non-urgent use such as watering gardens while the reservoir refills.
