Council services at Orange, largely business as usual

Under COVID-19 Protection Framework Orange there is almost no impact on Ashburton District Council services.
The orange setting allows businesses to remain open but encourages mask wearing in some indoor locations to help slow the spread of the virus and keep pressure off the health system.
All vaccine pass requirements for Council facilities were lifted on Monday 4 April, however mask wearing is still encouraged while visiting our indoor facilities and attending public meetings.
Orange also sees the restrictions on visitor numbers at the EA Networks Centre lifted, however the ongoing number of Omicron cases in our community does mean there could be disruptions to opening hours from time-to-time due to staffing issues.
There is no change to Council’s kerbside rubbish and recycling collection service under Orange, and the District’s resource recovery parks remain open.
For those taking a cautious approach and limiting their movements, many Council services are available online at www.ashburtondc.govt.nz. Council meetings are live streamed on YouTube and Facebook, and submitters can choose to speak to Councillors remotely via Microsoft Teams.
