Stockwater intakes under urgent repair

Contractors are working hard to reinstate the Methven auxiliary stockwater intake, which was completely washed out in floods caused by the weekend’s heavy rain.
The intake, on the north branch of the Ashburton River, may take a couple of days to restore and it is hoped to have the water flowing again as soon as the work is complete.
Other stockwater intakes were impacted by the flood event and urgent repairs commissioned, though it may be a few days before everything is back to normal.
The Brothers and Pudding Hill intakes have been reinstated, however it may take a day or so for this water to make its way to the lower reaches of the network.
Most of the network, however, is now operating normally.
