Mayfield on level four water restriction after pump fails

UPDATE 24 February: Restrictions have been lifted and the pump has been fixed.
21 February: The Ashburton District Council is advising residents on the Mayfield water supply that a level four water restriction is now in place until further notice.
The water restriction is required because the pump at the water treatment plant has broken down, and council is urging residents to conserve water until it can be fixed.
Level four water restrictions mean no hosing is permitted at any time. You can water gardens by hand using a bucket or watering can.
The restriction will remain in place until further notice.
