Boil water notice issued for Methven Water Supply

Heavy rainfall overnight and today has created high turbidity in the Methven Water Supply and Ashburton District Council has issued a precautionary boil water notice for the supply, effective immediately.
Residents connected to the scheme are advised to boil their drinking water, water used in food preparation, and for hygiene purposes for at least one minute before consumption.
The precautionary boil water notice will remain in place until further advised.
There are no concerns for the Methven-Springfield supply at this stage.
A water tanker will be onsite outside the Methven Medical Centre from 6am Monday.
