UPDATE: Boil water notice for Methven lifted

Saturday 16 July 2022, 2.30pm - The boil water notice for Methven's water supply has been lifted.

Tuesday 12 July 2022, 9.45PM - The Ashburton District Council has issued a precautionary boil water notice for Methven Township water supply, effective immediately. It comes as a result of poor weather causing high turbidity in the scheme.
Residents connected to this scheme are advised to boil their drinking water, water used in food preparation, and for hygiene purposes for at least one minute before consumption.
The precautionary boil water notice will remain in place until further advised.
The Council has started construction on a new $7.7M membrane water treatment plant which will improve drinking water quality for Methven and is likely to remove the need for boil water notices once completed. Read a recent update on the project here.
