Easter holidays changes to Council services

The public holidays over Easter and Anzac Day will see some temporary changes to a few Council services and facilities.
Rubbish & Recycling
Ashburton’s kerbside collection service will not operate on Good Friday – 15 April, so people whose bins are normally emptied on a Friday should put them out for collection on Saturday 16 April instead.
Bins will be collected as normal the week beginning Monday 18 April.
The following Monday, April 25, is Anzac Day, and there will be no change to kerbside collection that day; put your bin out as normal.
Resource Recovery Parks
The Ashburton Resource Recovery Park will be closed on 15 and 18 April, the Rakaia Resource Recovery Park will be closed 15, 16 and 18 April and on 25 April. The Methven green waste facility will be closed 17 April.
Ashburton Public Library
The Ashburton Public Library will be closed on 15, 17 and 18 April; it will open on Saturday 16 April from 10am to 1pm. Normal hours resume on 19 April.
Ashburton Art Gallery and Museum
The Ashburton Art Gallery and Museum will be closed 15 April, but open for the rest of the Easter holiday break, which offers a great chance to check out the latest exhibits.
The gallery has just opened a new solo exhibition by Dunedin-based painter Ewan McDougall. The exhibition features work created during Covid-19 lockdowns and his signature bold colours, wacky creatures and spontaneous energy make for a pulsating exhibition experience.
On Saturday 16 April, the Zonta Ashburton Female Art Award Premier winner Audrey Baldwin will be at the Gallery for a special performance of her winning work Art Chemist. Visit the gallery between 10.30am-4pm to take part and learn more about this winning work. This is a free public event.
EA Networks Centre
EA Networks Centre will be closed on 15 April. It will be open 7am to 7pm on Saturday 16 April; and 7am to 7pm on Sunday 17 April, though the pool area will operate from 10am until 5pm this day. The facility will open from 10am until 5pm on Monday 18 April.
On Anzac Day, it will be open from 1pm until 7pm.
