Road closures, Council services on Anzac Day

Ashburton Mayor Neil Brown will be among guest speakers at a civic service and wreath laying service in Ashburton on Anzac Day, Monday 25 April.
Mayor Brown will be joined by Ashburton College head students Jack Brown and Jorja Roulston, and Ashburton RSA president Merv Brenton at the 11am service at the cenotaph on Baring Square West.
A dawn service will also be held at the cenotaph at 6.30am.
Roads around Baring Square West will be closed while the services take place and traffic detours will be in place.
Roads to be closed from 6am to 8.30am and from 10am to 12.30pm on Monday 25 April are:
· Havelock Street, from Park Street to East Street Intersection
· Baring Square West, from Havelock Street to Cameron Street
· State Highway 1 (West Street), from Wills Street to Burnett Street
· Cameron Street, from West Street to Park Street
South-bound traffic will be detoured around Wills Street, Park Street and Burnett Street while the two services are held, and north-bound traffic will be detoured around Tancred Street, Park Street and Wills Street.
The public holiday on Anzac Day, Monday 25 April, will also see some temporary changes to a few Council services and facilities.
Rubbish & Recycling
There will be no change to kerbside collection on Monday; put your bin out as normal.
Resource Recovery Parks
The Ashburton Resource Recovery Park will be open from 1pm-5pm. The Rakaia Resource Recovery Park will be closed.
Ashburton Public Library
The Ashburton Public Library will be closed on Anzac Day.
Ashburton Art Gallery and Museum
The Ashburton Art Gallery and Museum will be open from 1pm until 4pm and offers a great chance to check out the latest exhibits.
The gallery is currently showing Gift, which is an eclectic group exhibition centred around the concept of gift-giving. It encompasses different cultures, conversations and concepts.
The museum’s popular agate display is on until 5 June and looks at the local agates formed in our hills over millions of years.
EA Networks Centre
EA Networks Centre will be open from 1pm until 7pm.
