Colours on Show in Ashburton Domain

Show-stopping maple and oak trees are dazzling residents and school-holiday visitors with their shades of gold, amber and red in the Ashburton Domain this autumn.
It’s also the last of the colour displays from bright flowers like Dahlias and Fuchsias until spring.
Ashburton District Council’s Community Services Group Manager, Steve Fabish says that it is one of the most colourful times of the year to explore different areas of the domain.
“Now is the perfect time to visit and see the large trees putting on their autumn foliage display”, says Ashburton District Council’s Community Services Group Manager, Steve Fabish.
“Getting out in the domain at this time of year is great for wellbeing and to get the family active over the school holidays. There are bike, buggy and scooter-friendly pathways for children while walkers can enjoy crunching through the fallen leaves”, he added.
The Ashburton Domain covers 37 hectares of open space, lawns, gardens and recreational facilities and is free and open to the public to visit.
