Cass Street revitalisation progressing on track

The Ashburton CBD Streetscape Renewal project is now well into its second week of construction, with the installation of a new water pipeline along Cass Street progressing on track.
TruLine Civil, working on behalf of the Council are installing the pipeline through the south end of Cass Street towards Moore Street, and are expecting to complete this by 14 February. They have begun extending the pipe down Burnett Street to William Street.
Once finished, they will begin work again at Havelock Street to lay a new water pipeline along the west side of Cass Street.
While work is underway, Cass Street has been restricted to a one-way road to allow for TruLine Civil to trench the new pipeline under the road.
Motorists are urged to continue driving with care in the area and to observe the road signs in place.
People coming into town tomorrow (6 February) for the Waitangi on East and Multi Cultural Bite events along East Street are reminded that parking will be available in the West Street carpark.
