New tool available to calculate what your rates could be

Residents can now see what their future rates bills may look like under the Ashburton District Council's proposed 2021-31 Long-Term Plan, now out for consultation.
The Council has developed a free online calculator that shows how residents' rates would be impacted over the next three financial years.
Residents simply need to enter their property's capital value (this can be found on your most recent rates bill), then select which area of the district they are in, and depending on that location, whether they are residential or commercial.
The calculator then provides a breakdown of the general rate, uniform annual general charge, roading rate and other charges for the next three years.
The calculator does not include Environment Canterbury rates, stockwater rates, water meter charges or late payment penalties. The calculations may also contain rounding errors of up to 10 cents.
The calculator is available on the Council's Long-Term Plan consultation website ItsOurPlace.nz where you can also find a summary of the proposed projects and budgets in our consultation document.
The Council is welcoming feedback on these proposals until 19 April.
Submissions can be made online at ItsOurPlace.nz, via email submissions@adc.govt.nz or in writing to the Council, 5 Baring Square West, Ashburton.
