Next time you are driving or walking near the corner of Oak Grove and Elizabeth Street in Ashburton, be on the lookout for an impressive new work recently completed by Amalia Worsfold, a young artist who participated in the Chorus Cabinet Art Programme.

Prior to its inspiring transformation, the cabinet seemingly blended into the background but it has been brought to life with a colourful display of what makes Ashburton a great place to live, work, and play.

Worsfold's theme, 'Ashburton at its Best', features the town's landmark clock tower, playgrounds, domains, a pond, river, and of course the East Street decorative tree lights.

Worsfold is Ashburton's youngest artist to participate in the programme, which is designed to bring works of art to neighbourhoods and discourage graffiti on frequently-tagged cabinets.
