Council launches new-look website

Local government services and resources are now available to Mid Canterbury residents on a new and improved website that went live this week.
Ashburton District Council has upgraded its website to a modern platform with the ability to implement functions and capabilities commonly expected of today's websites.
The platform's simple content creation features make it quicker and easier for the Council to develop content for residents that's more user-friendly for people to access from their mobile phones.
With the help of an intuitive search function and improved homepage options, residents will also be able to navigate to the information they need with greater ease.
The website address remains the same as previously (ashburtondc.govt.nz) and visitors do not need to do anything differently in order to access it.
If people have bookmarked pages from the Ashburton District Council website on their computer or mobile prior to 1 February, these links will no longer work. Simply delete the old bookmark and create a new one to the right page.
ADC now joins a raft of other local governments using the Squiz platform, including Dunedin City Council and Wellington City Council.
Council is continuing to roll out the new website features in a phased approach.
