Watch out for road closures at Santa Parade

Published: 30 November 2020

Drivers are being urged to take care coming into the Ashburton town centre on Saturday 5 December as the annual Santa Parade kicks off at 12pm.

Crowds of spectators are expected to line the streets for the event where rolling road closures will be in place to help control traffic as the parade makes its way around the CBD.

The parade will gather at Mona Square before moving to East Street to begin the procession.

East, Moore, Tancred, Burnett, Havelock and Cass Streets will progressively close as the parade makes its way around, and once it has moved through, the streets will reopen again.

The parade will only be on East, Havelock and Cass Streets but access onto Moore, Tancred and Burnett Streets will be blocked when the parade moves through on East and Cass Streets.
