Property owners that are served directly by water races on Ashburton Gorge Road between the Stoney Creek Bridge and the Inland Scenic Route are advised that the race is the subject of investigations by Environment Canterbury into potential contamination.  Site investigations carried out today by Environment Canterbury staff suggest that the contamination may be persisting.  Property owners are advised to monitor stock health and restrict stock access to the water races in this area where possible.
