Statement from Ashburton District Council on Ashburton Art Gallery and Heritage Centre

Ashburton District Council is pleased to confirm the ongoing litigation arising from the Ashburton Art Gallery and Heritage Centre project has been resolved.
The settlement terms are confidential to the parties involved, but the Council is now in a position to complete the necessary works relating to the building and mechanical services.
Council is working with relevant experts to resolve the condensation and circulation problems that have been experienced in the building.
Council wishes to acknowledge Bradford Building Limited, the head contractor on the original construction project, and its approach in response to this litigation.
Chief Executive Hamish Riach said: "The Council appreciates that Bradford Building Limited has been instrumental in helping secure a resolution with other parties involved in this litigation."
Both parties will seek to maintain their established working relationship for this building and other buildings they are jointly involved with.
Council and Bradford Building Limited's shared hope is that the residents and visitors to the Ashburton District will continue to enjoy the excellent facility that is the Ashburton Art Gallery and Heritage Centre.
