Rakaia Water upgrades postponed

Upgrades to the Rakaia water infrastructure that had been scheduled to start on Thursday night (29 October) have been postponed and are instead programmed to get underway in 2021.
The Council has postponed raising the Rakaia bore water head above ground until a less disruptive time of year for residents.
The work will be carried out during the April school holidays when water use levels generally drop back down after the peak summer period.
The work is part of district-wide upgrades across the Council's drinking water supplies.
Residents will be notified of the disruption to service closer to the new start date.
