NZ Mountain Film Festival heading back to Ashburton

A celebration of adventurous sports and lifestyles will come to life in Ashburton on 1 August, when the NZ Mountain Film Festival returns for another year.

The acclaimed festival captures jaw-dropping sights from around New Zealand and overseas, and this year movie goers will be treated to both the Best of Wanaka Selection and the Kiwi Made.
The Ashburton Youth Council (AYC) are hosting the festival at the Ashburton Trust Event Centre, with funds raised from ticket sales to go towards running their annual youth and family-friendly community event, Bite Nite.
AYC Chair Kavan Faoagali says the NZ Mountain Film Festival was a great success last year, and the team are hoping for another standout event.
"We're so excited to be bringing the NZ Mountain Film Festival back to Mid Canterbury. It's an amazing showcase of some of the best sights from here and around the world, and really inspires you to get out and explore these pristine places that are often right on our doorstep.
"Last year, we had a really good turnout for the Kiwi Made selection, so this time we're adding the Best of Wanaka selection to really fire up your sense of adventure. Grab your tickets and come along for what's bound to be another amazing festival."
The Best of Wanaka selection will screen at 2pm on Saturday 1 August, followed by the Kiwi Made selection at 7pm.
Tickets are now on sale from the Ashburton Trust Event Centre: Adults - $25.00 or $40.00 for both screenings, Children (aged 14 and under) - $15.00 or $20.00 for both screenings.
For those looking for the ultimate weekend deal, Bella Vista Motel and Somerset Grocer have proudly come on board to create a special package offer. The Weekend Package for Two will provide one nights stay in a Bella Vista Motel compact apartment, breakfast at Somerset Grocer and film festival tickets to both screenings, all for $200.
To purchase your tickets or the Weekend Package for Two, call the Ashburton Trust Event Centre on (03) 307 2010 or visit the team at 211 Wills Street, Ashburton.
