Due to bad weather predicted for Friday night (27 November) Ashburton's Light Up the Night Christmas event in Baring Square East will be moving to the next day, Saturday 28 November.​

Light Up the Night, presented by Tru-Line Civil will start at the same time (6.30pm) in the Square with all of the activities that had been planned for Friday.

Event-goers are being reminded to arrive in time on Saturday evening to secure their spot around the stage and collect their free Santa gift giveaway tickets, with the first draw starting at 7pm.

In the event of further bad weather for the remaining festival events, people should look for announcements on the nightsoflights.nz website.​
