Digital memberships and virtual children's programmes on offer at the Ashburton Library

The COVID-19 lockdown may have forced its doors to close, but there is still plenty on offer from the Ashburton Public Library.
Nothing beats a good book to pass the time, and during the lockdown, there are some great titles to take your fancy thanks to the Library's temporarily free digital memberships.
There are a range of free eBooks, eAudio and eResources available through the membership. To register, head to https://onlinereg.kotui.org.nz/forms/1 and make sure to select 'Digital Membership'. You will also need a pin number, which is the password you enter when completing your registration.
The Library's free Wi-Fi has been switched off to discourage people from gathering outside its doors. This decision has been in line with directives from the National Library, National Crisis Management Centre and Ministry for Business, Innovation and Employment.
Although fans of the Library's popular children's programmes are no longer able to visit to participate, the Librarians have been doing their best to make these programmes available online.
Both Wriggle & Read and Story & Rhyme Time have been recorded and uploaded to YouTube for residents to enjoy from home. These are being shared on the Library's Facebook page.
