Council seeks expressions of interest for building removal

The Ashburton District Council is seeking expressions of interest for the purchase and removal of the former Ashburton Information Centre building.
The building is located in the Ashburton town centre on East Street next to the chessboard and needs to be relocated to allow for upcoming streetscape redevelopment.
The Council determined at its meeting on 30 May 2019 that the former Information Centre building would not form part of the Ashburton CBD revitalisation project. It was decided that the building would appear out of place with the designs for the wider regeneration of the area, which included creating a more pedestrian and cycle friendly environment.
Interested parties are invited to register their interest to buy and remove the building by 4pm, Monday 9 March. They can do so by emailing info@adc.govt.nz.
