Current consultation
Ashburton District Council engages with the community on a range of Council matters and projects through consultation and feedback.
Including community views as part of decision-making processes is an important way of ensuring residents can participate in decisions that impact on the current and future wellbeing of the community.
Current council projects and matters you can provide comment and feedback on are displayed below.
Draft Ashburton Domain Development Plan
The Ashburton Domain is an important and much-loved space for both residents and visitors to our area. This is why we are developing a plan for the Ashburton Domain for the next 30 years.
Due to the Covid-19 lockdown, the period for accepting feedback has been extended. A closing date will be confirmed once we have a better understanding of the situation. Please also note that the hearings for those who wish to speak to their submission, have also been postponed.
Please complete the form here to provide your feedback.
For details of the plan, see the documents below:

District speed limit review
We are reviewing the speed limits of local roads throughout the district to ensure they are safe and appropriate. The review excludes State Highways as these are managed by the New Zealand Transport Agency.
As well as the consultation flyer above, an interactive map is available with the proposed speed limit changes highlighted, or see the individual maps and road descriptions below.
Due to the Covid-19 Lockdown the hearings and deliberations have been postponed. Once we have a better understanding of the situation these will be rescheduled.
