The Ashburton District Council will close all of its community facilities from 4.00pm today (23 March) until further notice.
The EA Networks Centre, Ashburton Public Library, Art Gallery & Heritage Centre and Ashburton Trust Event Centre will be closed to the public in an effort to help slow the spread of COVID-19. The Council Administration building will remain open as an essential service for customer service enquiries.
Due to Government announcements today (23 March) on the COVID-19 situation and the move to enter Level 3 and 4 alerts, the following proposed road closures and events have been cancelled:

The Ashburton District Council's community facilities will remain open to the public at this stage, but residents are advised that this decision will continue to be evaluated regularly as needed, as the COVID-19 situation evolves.

Progress on the Ashburton CBD streetscape revitalisation is moving ahead on track, with above ground upgrades starting on Cass Street from next week (16 March).
Upgrades to the Rakaia Salmon site will get underway next week, with the old toilets set to be removed from Monday 16 March and the caravan effluent dump station closing until a new location can be secured.
