Mayor's Taskforce For Jobs Campaign

Mayor's Taskforce For Jobs (MTFJ)

Rural Resilience Pilot Programme 2023

Ashburton District Council and Mayor Neil Brown are part of a nationwide network of mayors working together to help young people under 25 and disadvantaged people into employment, education, training and other positive activity in their communities.

The Mayors Taskforce for Jobs (MTFJ), in partnership with the Ministry of Social Development, has set up a Rural Community Resilience programme and we're running a pilot programme for six months.

Under this scheme, Council's youth employment coach will help connect local businesses with young adults and those displaced by COVID-19, to create sustainable employment opportunities.

We're looking to partner with local employers and those seeking work to match the right people with the right jobs. This programme goes further than just making introductions and we work alongside both parties to produce great outcomes.

If you're a local employer who is interested in the programme or you're seeking work, then we encourage you to contact us.
