Thompsons Track closure, between Tramway and Ashburton Staveley Roads

A section of Thompsons Track between Tramway Road and Ashburton Staveley Road will be closed for eight days from 5am on Monday 15 November so contractors can install new culverts and undertake road repairs.

This area of Thompsons Track suffered extensive damage during the May 2021 rainfall event and the new culverts will give increased resilience for future rain events for this key piece of infrastructure connecting the district.

A detour option is available using Tramway Road, Arundel Rakaia Gorge Road, Springburn Bushside Road and Ashburton Staveley Road.

The work is expected to be complete by 6pm on Monday 22 November.
