Conserve water notice for Methven lifted

2.30pm Update - The conserve water notice for Methven has now been lifted as the reservoir levels have recovered following the earlier outage.
Residents in Methven were earlier asked to conserve water after an unexpected outage at the Methven water treatment plant yesterday.
Contractors have now resolved the issue, and the plant is operating again, however it will take some time before the reservoirs refill and full service is restored. Council warns that people on the scheme may experience low or no water presssure at times on Sunday.
While the reservoirs refill, people should use water for essential purposes only – like drinking and cooking, short showers and flushing the toilet. Please no watering of gardens.
A water tanker is located at the Methven Medical Centre with clean drinking water, residents can bring their own containers to fill.
A text message was sent to those subscribed to the Council's 4196 text alert system. Text your postcode to 4196 to receive important updates from Council.
