Ashburton Domain pool closed for the season

The Ashburton Domain paddling pool has now been closed (early) for the season while maintenance work is undertaken to repair damaged seals discovered after recent drainage of the pool.
The pool was drained last week after broken glass found in and round the public pool and reported to Council on 20 March.
To ensure the health and safety of users, Council immediately closed the paddling pool temporarily to clean up the glass. While the pool was drained, damage to the seals were also discovered requiring additional repairs.
The early closure of the pool (normally open through the end of March) will allow Council to carry out required repairs and ensure the pool is ready for use in November when it is scheduled to re-open for the new season.
