​​​​Methven Recycling Drop-off Facility

The Methven recycling drop-off facility is located at the corner of Methven Chertsey Road and Line Road

This facility is unmanned and open to the public 24 hours a day for free drop off of recyclables.

 It accepts:

​Cardboard​Paper
​Aluminium and steel cans​Glass
​Plastics - all plastics co-mingledWhiteware

There is also a reusable household items drop-off facility here where household items can be dropped off.  This is open from:

  • Friday - 2.00pm – 4.00pm
  • Saturday - 10.00am – 12.00pm                

You can drop off any household goods for free.  

Methven Greenwaste Drop-off Facility

This facility for greenwaste drop-off is located on the corner on Rakaia Barrhill Methven Road and Vaughans Road.

This facility is manned and operates:

  • Wednesday 2.00pm – 4.00pm

  • Sunday 12.00pm – 4.00pm

Rural Recycling Drop-off Facilities

Council provides self-serve rural recycling drop-off facility sites in the district.

These are located at:

 These drop-off facility sites accept the following materials into the co-mingled bins:

​Cardboard​Paper
​Aluminium and steel cansAll plastics 
All glass bottles must be sorted into the respective coloured bins provided

No domestic refuse is accepted at the rural recycling drop-off facilities, it must be disposed of at the Rakaia or Ashburton Resource Recovery Parks.​
