COVID-19 Alert Level Three update

The New Zealand Government has announced what Alert Level Three will mean for food businesses, and the Council is keen to help you get your business back up and running.

We are in the process of emailing all food operators outlining the steps you need to take to restart your operation.

Food delivery, drive-through, online shopping or options such as click-and-collect can begin from 11:59pm on Monday 27 April. However, you cannot open your physical retail storefront to customers unless you are a supermarket, dairy or petrol station.

If you have any questions about the impact this will have on the scope of your food operation, please give the Council Food Act Verifier (Environmental Health Team), Leia Manewell a call on 027 224 6571 or email l.manewell@foodandhealth.co.nz

Food operators are also being advised to pre-flush drinking water supply pipes as part of their restart plans.
