What is a PIM?
A Project Information Memorandum or PIM is a report that provides you with Council information relevant to your proposed building project.
This could include:
- Planning Information (resource consents)
- Heritage status
- Earthquake regions
- Details on stormwater and sewerage systems
- The presence of any hazardous contaminants known to Council
- Any development contributions payable
Do I need one?
PIMs are optional but can help reduce delays in obtaining approvals and highlight potential issues that could affect your project. PIM's are completed by Council to ensure your application meets all other legislation and bylaws.
How do I apply for a PIM?
You can apply for a PIM before lodging a building consent application or as part of your building consent application.
When applying for your PIM you will need to provide:
- Sufficient plans indicating development and proposed use
- Site plan showing North, site coverage %, distances to boundarys and other buildings, datum heights, stated scale or clearly dimensioned showing proposed connections to utilities i.e. stormwater and sewerage systems, vehicle crossings
- Certificate of title (less than 6 months old)
