Ashburton District residents will be learning new ways to reduce waste and save money next week, when Waste Free Living returns to Ashburton on Tuesday 28 February.
Kate Meads will present her Waste Free Parenting and Food Lovers Masterclass workshops at the Ashburton Resource Recovery Park for one day only next week, in a bid to encourage sustainable consumer habits in the district.
Council Waste Recovery Manager Craig Goodwin says the workshops are a great opportunity for residents to learn practical tips for cutting down unnecessary waste.
"Waste reduction is an important outcome for our district, and for people who'd like to play an active role in that, the Waste Free Living workshops are a great source of ideas and inspiration. The workshops also help mum's and dad's wallets by showing families how reducing waste can save money."
"We encourage anyone interested in these useful and educational workshops to come along," he adds.
The Food Lovers Masterclass will run from 10.00am – 12.00pm, and Waste Free Parenting from 6.00pm – 8.30pm on 28 February at the Ashburton Resource Recovery Park.
Tickets cost $25.00 per workshop and include a $100.00 goodie bag. Tickets can be purchased online from www.thenappylady.co.nz. Bookings are essential.
