District Council is advising motorists to avoid the railway crossing on Walnut
Avenue between State Highway 1 and East Street from Monday 3 July, when work
will begin to resurface the road over the railway crossing.
is expecting to close the road across the railway line between 7am – 6pm on
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next week. Motorists travelling from
East Street to SH1 will be able to cross on Monday and Tuesday nights, and
those travelling from SH1 to East Street will be able to cross on Wednesday and
Thursday nights. Detours will be in place throughout the work.
