A study on the feasibility of a new Ashburton District Council Administration Building and Library is now available for review.
The study has been undertaken by Opus Architecture to determine the feasibility of potential options for a new building or buildings to house the Council Administration and Library facilities. Currently, the Council Administration Building and Library are not considered adequate to maintain their operational needs. They have also been assessed as "earthquake prone" under the latest National Building Standards.
The study highlights important factors that the new building or buildings should achieve, based on Critical Success Factors and the responses received from the Ashburton community during the study's consultation process.
Opus Architecture has compiled a short-list of potential options for the new Administration Building and Library, which are available for review in the report.
This study will form the basis for the next round of consultation, with dates yet to be finalised.
