Multicultural Bite

Over 14,000 people showed up at the Ashburton District's annual Multicultural Bite to experience the melting pot of cultures in the district showcase their traditional food, dress and dance.

The festival saw locals and visitors lining up to swap festival dollars in exchange for bite-sized morsels from 20 countries around the world.

Colourful national costumes from countries such as Nepal, Japan, Ecuador and Samoa filled the streets and stage in the form of a multicultural fashion parade.

With the increasing success of the Multicultural Bite, they will be representing the district in the TrustPower National Community Awards in Invercargill next month.‚Äč
