The Ashburton District Council has today begun seeking tenders for the appointment of an architect and lead designer for the Council library and administration building project.

The successful applicant will be responsible for undertaking the architectural design for the new building, including specialist library and workplace planning advice, and all architectural services. The role is expected to be confirmed early next month, with work commencing soon after.

Ashburton Mayor Donna Favel says, “We are very excited to have reached this important milestone in the library and administration building project and welcome applications from appropriately resourced and experienced organisations to help bring this project into reality.”

The tender documents for the architect and lead designer can be found online through Tenderlink  Applications close Tuesday 17 August.

The Council announced in June that Logic Group had been appointed project manager for the new building and are now managing the total development of the project.
