Ashburton District Council has adopted the 2015/16 Annual Report during the inaugural Council Meeting yesterday.

The report demonstrates how Council fared during the 2015-2016 year and covers both financial and
non-financial performance.

The Council recorded a $10.1million surplus before taxation and other comprehensive income for the year.

“Council has worked hard this year to ensure key community facilitates continue to exceed expectations,
whilst maintaining our commitment to upgrade local infrastructure and focus on the provision of core services,” Council Chief Executive Andrew Dalziel says.

“In particular, we are proud of how new local facilities have been received by the community. The EA Networks Centre’s high satisfaction ratings and the growth in attendance figures at the Museum demonstrate how valued
these facilities are by the community.”

The Annual Report is a document reporting on what Council has and has not achieved, compared with what was planned in the Council’s 2015/16 Annual Plan.

Council received an unmodified opinion from Audit New Zealand.

The 2015/16 Annual Report will be available on the Council website.
