Ashburton Museum looking for more volunteers

Ashburton Museum is currently seeking more volunteers to join its dynamic team.

Museum Director Tanya Robinson says anyone with a passion for good customer service would be an ideal candidate.

“The Museum is a popular community facility and the most important quality we look for in volunteers is a willingness to reach out to visitors and make them feel welcome. You don’t have to have an extensive knowledge of our local history or have previously worked in similar positions to be a valued member of the Museum team.”

Two rostered positions are available for the right people who would like to donate their time and skills to working approximately three hours a week at reception.

“We have a very committed team of volunteers and permanent staff who can offer new recruits great insight into Ashburton’s heritage. We greatly value the work volunteers do and are looking forward to bringing new people into our team.”

Anyone interested in applying is encouraged to visit the ADC employment page or collect a form from the Museum front desk.

Completed forms and a summary of work history can be submitted online or left at the Museum front desk.
