Ashburton District Council adopted four amended policies and one bylaw at its meeting today.
The adopted bylaw and policies were the Advertising Signage Bylaw; Significance and Engagement Policy; Community Grants and Funding Policy; Fraud and Corruption Policy; and Elected Members' Allowance and Reimbursement (Expenses) Policy.
Council will seek feedback on a draft Sensitive Expenditure Policy through internal consultation with Council employees. A draft Sugar-sweetened Beverages Policy was also adopted for consultation.
Community consultation on the adopted policies and bylaw took place earlier this year. Submissions were considered by the Council's Policy and Bylaw Subcommittee before Council adopted them today.
Four policies have also been removed from the Council's Policy Register - the Buildings over Pipelines Policy; Vehicle Crossings Policy; Bonds in Respect to Formation of Vehicular Access to Properties Policy; and Selling of Entranceways – Rural Policy.
Consultation on the Sugar- sweetened Beverages Policy starts today, 21 September and will finish on Sunday 22 October.
