Ashburton Hakatere River Trail Closure

​The Ashburton Hakatere River Trail will be temporarily closed to be public on Saturday 4 May, while the six hour Mountain Bike event is held by the Mid Canterbury Mountain Biking Club.

The closure is along the track from State Highway One (the bridge) to Melrose Road, Ashburton.​​​​

Ashburton District Council gives public notice of the following road closure with the exception of emergency vehicles) for the period indicated hereunder.​

Street Sprints & Night Autocross​ - Ashburton Car Club

Roads to be closed:

  • Smallbone Drive, from River Terrace to Robinson Street
  • Robinson Street,​​ from Smallbone Drive intersection to McNally Street​​
  • Watson Street, from Range Street to Robinson Street
  • McNally Street, from Range Street to the end of the street​​

Period of closure:

From 7.30pm, Friday 10 May until 8pm, Sunday 12 May, 2019​

This notice of closure is made under the Local Government Act 1974 - Schedule 10 (11 (e)). It will be an offence under the above regulations for any person otherwise than under authority of an authorised permit to use the roads / streets for ordinary vehicular traffic during the period of closure.

Ashburton District Council gives public notice of the following proposals to temporarily close roads to ordinary vehicular traffic.​

Boulevard Day – The Retailers Group​

Roads proposed to be closed:

  • East Street, from Moore Street to Havelock Street
  • Burnett Street, from East Street to 230 Burnett Street
  • Tancred Street, from East Street to Cass Street

Period of Closure:

From 7am until 6pm on Monday, 23 September 2019.

Any person objecting to the proposal is called upon to lodge notice of their objection and grounds thereof in writing or email to Council by 4pm on Friday, 3 May 2019.

  • East Street, from Moore Street to Havelock Street

From 9.30am until 12 noon on Sunday 19 May, 2019.
