Council performance

Council's performance is measured in two ways – in financial terms through the Annual Report and in non-financial terms using key tools such as the Annual Residents' Survey and our Customer Request Management System.

It is important for Council to measure its performance to ensure it is delivering the services and achieving the community outcomes set out in the ten-year Ashburton District Long Term Plan.

Annual Report

The Annual Report provides detailed information about Council's performance for the year including its financial position, work programme completion, and performance measured against targets set in the Long Term Plan or Annual Plan.

Annual Residents' Survey

The Annual Residents' Survey measures customer satisfaction on the services Council delivers to our community.

The survey asks a selection of Ashburton District residents their opinions on a wide ranging list of services and issues pertaining to the Council.

The information provided by the survey results identifies what is working well and which areas need improvement, thereby helping Council determine work programmes, focuses, and budget priorities for the future.
