Community Engagement Policy

We are reviewing our Significance & Engagement Policy and have proposed some changes – we want your feedback.

We are proposing to rename the policy as Council’s “Community Engagement Policy”, to reduce jargon and be clear about its purpose.
Other changes to the policy include:

  • updates to our strategic assets schedule,
  • condensed significance assessment criteria,
  • a new section acknowledging the growing diversity in our district, and
  • English and Te Reo translations of the section relating to our relationship with tangata whenua, reflecting growth in our relationship with Arowhenua.

These changes have been made with the intent of simplifying the policy and increasing the effectiveness of the framework.
We want to hear your feedback on the draft policy. Please make a submission below

We are accepting feedback until 5pm Monday 19 April 2021.
