Draft Transportation and Parking Bylaw
We are reviewing our current Transportation and Parking Bylaw, as since it was last reviewed eight years ago, a lot has changed.
The purpose of the Bylaw is to set controls for the use of roads and footpaths in the district by all types of traffic so we can ensure the health and safety of people, prevent nuisance to the public and protect transportation infrastructure from damage.
We want to make sure this Bylaw is fit for purpose so we're consulting with the community on proposed changes. In this draft, we're proposing to make a number of minor changes, mostly intended to refresh and update the Bylaw, which you can read more about below or in the Consultation Document.
Submissions closed at 5pm, Sunday 14 May.

Key Changes
We're proposing changes in four areas:
- Changes to restrictions on heavy vehicles, one-way roads, and turning restrictions
- Aligning the bylaw with current practices
- Making the bylaw easier to use
- Enabling Council to make decisions by resolution
You can learn more about each of these proposed changes in the Consultation Document.
