Forestry Advice

The professionally qualified District Council's forester is available to provide forestry advice and forest management services within the Mid & South Canterbury region.   Along with providing forest management services to numerous private clients the Council also has contracts with other local authorities.

Forest Management Services available from the Council include:

  • Facilitation of log sales; assessment of log volume, arranging tenders or negotiate sales & audit harvesting operations.
  • Plantation valuations of mature and immature plantations.  Valuations can be for property purchase or sale, insurance or other purposes.
  • Establishment & tending advice; land preparation, planting, releasing, fertiliser application and tree tending.

Please note that all work completed by the Council has no implicit warranty of accuracy or with regard to log sales guarantee of debt.

Please contact the District Forester if you have any questions regarding your forestry requirements and for details regarding our charge out rates.
