The professionally qualified District Council's forester is available to provide forestry advice and forest management services within the Mid & South Canterbury region. Along with providing forest management services to numerous private clients the Council also has contracts with other local authorities.
Forest Management Services available from the Council include:
- Facilitation of log sales; assessment of log volume, arranging tenders or negotiate sales & audit harvesting operations.
- Plantation valuations of mature and immature plantations. Valuations can be for property purchase or sale, insurance or other purposes.
- Establishment & tending advice; land preparation, planting, releasing, fertiliser application and tree tending.
