Current Fire Restrictions

  All Areas

Notice is hereby given the Restricted Fire Season in the hill and high country of the Ashburton District has been lifted as from midnight Wednesday 20 April 2011.  An Open Fire Season is now in place across the District other than crown land.
Be advised that a Restricted Fire Season is still in place for all crown land and it is still necessary to obtain a fire permit from the Department of Conservation for any fires lit on, or within one kilometre of any crown land.
Under Environment Canterbury’s Natural Resources Regional Plan rules no outdoor burning is allowed at any time within all urban areas of the District without a resource consent from ECan.
There is still an expectation that any outdoor burning is conducted in a safe manner.
