Ashburton District is regularly subjected to severe weather related events which cause disruption to our services and facilities and inconvenience the public.

The threat of flooding, earthquakes, storms and other events means it's very important for communities to be prepared to handle emergencies.

The Ashburton District Council works to ensure the impact of these threats to the community is lessened. Through planning, education and training teams of volunteers, we’re aiming to reduce the distress, injury and loss of life that can be caused by natural disasters.
