Buying a house and need information about the property?
Council can, on request, supply all the details it holds on any piece of land within the district. The information is contained in a Land Information Memorandum (LIM) and can include rates, building/resource consent records (does not include Environment Canterbury granted resource consents), health licences, complaints, water supply information, land features and the like.
The LIM application fees are listed in the Council's Schedule of Fees and Charges.
Council's aim is to provide a completed LIM within 10 business days.
Note: The report might not be able to identify potential erosion, slippage or the presence of hazardous contaminants, but it will be able to point out conditions of the property and any certificates issued under the Building Act. For a complete list in a LIM report, please refer to the application form.
